Venice Workshop | 04 - 06 DECEMBER 2026
PRICE £1495 | INCLUDING ACCOMMODATIOn
Join me for an immersive three-day photography workshop in Venice, one of the most mesmerizing cities in the world. During this workshop, we will explore both iconic landmarks and hidden gems that are ideal for fine art minimalist photography. With over a decade of experience capturing the essence of Venice and its surrounding islands, I bring a wealth of knowledge about the best locations and the precise conditions needed for exceptional photography.
Throughout our time together, I will guide you through each site, sharing insights on lighting and tides to ensure you can maximise the potential of our chosen spots. This workshop offers a unique opportunity to enhance your photography skills while discovering the beauty and charm that Venice has to offer.
Each day will begin just before sunrise and finish just after sunset to maximise the amount of shooting time available. After the morning shoot, we will return to the hotel and a little downtime to recharge batteries and refresh ourselves.
The workshop officially begins on Friday 4th December and concludes after the sunset shoot on Sunday 6th December. It would be great if you could join me for a sunset shoot the evening before the workshop begins and for dinner that evening so the group may get acquainted.
The workshop is limited to 6 participants, a deposit of £450 is required to secure your place and the balance is due 4th November. The workshop price includes 4 nights accommodation; Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
During the workshop you will learn how to; use manual exposure, calculate exposures when using neutral density filters (and grads if you use them), how to read the histogram to maximise the exposure, help with improving your compositions, which lens to use and when, the use of tilt shift lenses (if you have them) and much more.
All participants will need the following; a camera that has bulb mode, a sturdy tripod, a remote shutter release and neutral density filters, plus nd grads if you use them. The following neutral density filter strengths will be of benefit to use at different times of the day to avoid having to shoot for longer periods than necessary, a: 3 stop, 6 stop and 10 stop filter.

I have just returned home from an absolutely wonderful workshop in Venice with Noel Clegg. Although I have visited Venice before and taken many photographs of this beautiful city, I have never enjoyed and learned so much as I did on this occasion.
This was my first venture into fine art, long exposure photography. I wanted to learn a new discipline and knew that there was a lot to learn. Noel was a marvellous tutor from the word go. Even before leaving for Venice, he had opened a forum for participants where we could voice any concerns and questions we might have about the workshop. It was reassuring to learn that some of the others had similar queries to mine.
Noel's kindness and patience shone through in spade loads during the workshop. No question was too great and he spent time with each participant giving guidance on the importance of composition, symmetry, the use of filters and correct exposures.
I entered this workshop with a willingness to listen to what was being said and to learn as much as I could in return. My doubts and concerns about calculating long exposure times were quickly dispelled by Noel's expert tuition and I quickly settled into a routine of enjoying the many varied locations Noel had chosen for us and setting up my compositions accordingly.
Many thanks to Noel for offering me an insight into a completely different way of approaching my photography. I still whooped with joy when I captured a good shot, but know that thanks to my patient and excellent tutor, I had given my all in achieving this.
Highly recommended and can't wait to go back again!!

I attended Noel’s Venice workshop, all I can say is that this was a terrific experience.
Noel put it great effort to plan and organise every single location that we visited, taking into consideration tides and sun position for every single location. Every day commenced at around 6am and ended around 6pm, ensuring we could shoot at as many locations as possible. The days ended with a dinner, where we shared a few laughs, further adding to the experience.
Noel is incredibly patient and always willing to answer any questions. The excellent support continued post workshop, where Noel offered his assistance to help me with some post-processing difficulties. I would highly recommended any workshop hosted by Noel as his knowledge, experience and willingness to help is just extraordinary.
